This story sheds new light on the life of Joseon-era dancer, musician and poet Hwang Jin Yi, who made her art blossom even when her love was put to test. The series also depicts the tragic life of this incredibly determined woman who faces hardships due to her social status.
Meanwhile, another prominent dancer, Bu Yong, is jealous of Hwangjini’s artistic talent.
Kim Eun-ho, Hwang Jin Yi’s first love dies because their love turns out unrealistic due to differences in their social status. At the same time, the king’s relative Byuk Kye-soo, becomes addicted to Hwang Jin Yi, but fails to win her heart.
Enduring all sorts of turbulence and hardships, Hwang Jin Yi went from a humble child in a temple to the most prominent and influential dancer in the Joseon-era.
I highly recommended this drama. Intriguing story line, good cinematography and very good costume and art design. There is nothing more you can ask for in a period drama.
It was kinda slow at first but it was uphill all the way till the end after the timeskip ( the death of her first love )..
Besides, there's Ha Ji Won too.
